Pre Workout - Supplement Series Part 2 - Mind And Muscle

The pre workout I take is from Mind and Muscle.

It’s called WYKED 3.0 and I love it. Prior to workout I put one scoop into water. I usually try to drink half prior to workout and sip on the rest during my workout. Even if I run on 4h of sleep it helps me to get a decent workout in.

Creatine – The creatine in the pre workout will help you with the production of ATP (energy) from the creatine-phosphagen system. This energy system is our first system that gets targeted to create ATP and is for short bouts of high intensity exercise such as lifting. The phosphagen and creatine bind together and build the Adenosine Triphosphate.

Agmatine sulfate – An other ingredient is agmatine sulfate. Agmatine is derived from L-arginine through decarboxylation (the removal of a carboxylic acid group). It is stored in neurons and is released during neuronal activation. Agmatine is considered to be a neurotransmitter and neuromodulator. In pre workout it helps increase the muscle pump via the inhibition of nitric oxide synthase (NOS). Improves intra-workout energy. Helps with the role of a nootropic, which helps aiding with mental clarity (focus), stress management and mental health. The last benefit of agmatine is the promotion ofhealthy insulin sensitivity, promoting leanness and muscle building.

L-Carnitine – L-Carnitine is known for its fat burning effects. L-carnitine is an amino acid (a building block for proteins) that is naturally produced in the body. L-carnitine helps the body produce energy by catabolizing the fat metabolism. It is important for heart and brain function, muscle movement, and many other body processes.

Caffeine – The benefits of caffeine are countless. Caffeine mixed with carbs replenish muscle glycogen concentrations faster after exercise. It helps increase memory and improves the reaction time and logical reasoning during times when you’re running low on sleep. Caffeine helps to prevent weight gain. It increases our metabolism and acts as a diuretic and thermogenic. It increases your stamina and decreases the post-workout muscle pain by up to 48%.
