guy and girl tape measureTargex, brought to you by VIP Supps, is a topical fat loss lotion. The product is meant to reduce subcutaneous fat locally – that is, it is supposed to help burn off fat in the areas in which you apply it. Examples include application to the abdominal region, to the love handles (a notoriously stubborn spot for men to lose fat from), the legs or arms (to improve definition), or the thighs (in the case of most women).

Profile

While topical fat loss products are nothing new to the market, Targex makes use of a few novel ingredients. The first ingredient is glycyrrhetinic acid, an active component found in licorice. A scientific study using this ingredient in a local topical carrier has shown it to be effective for fat loss(1). Another secret ingredient, PHC97, has also been included, which is supposed to complement the fat burning properties of glycyrrhetinic acid.

The product comes in a 4oz aluminum bottle with a hand pump. A single bottle will last 30 to 60 days (depending on dosing), and is competitively priced. Thanks to the unique carrier, the product also dries fairly quickly and doesn’t stain clothing. One down side to the product is that it can cause a little water retention in the application area due to the glycyrrhetinic acid, but this subsides after discontinuing use for a day. However, the new version of the formula, which will be produced soon, should fix this problem.

Real World Feedback

Testers on Mind and Muscle’s Forums all seem to agree that Targex works. Here are statements from some of our testers:

“Okay, I measured up the other day and lo and behold my waist has dropped down to 32.87 inches, that’s a drop of 0.79 inches. Not only that, but I’m feeling MUCH leaner down there.”

“I am almost at the end of my bottle of Targex and appear to have lost 1/2-3/4″ in a few weeks without any other substantial changes to my diet or supplement routine. Visually, my obliques look leaner.”

This tester was only using Targex on one side of his chest: “Still going strong here, and the difference is very pronounced, even my girlfriend has been saying it is weird how one side is smaller than the other.” One tester who was “eating like shit” still seemed to notice favorable results while using Targex. Note that most of these users were not in a caloric deficit and still saw favorable results. More reviews can be found here: http://www.mindandmuscle.net/forum/index.php?showforum=151

Conclusion

With both positive published studies on the ingredients and favorable real world feedback, Targex appears to be an innovative and effective product for topically reducing subcutaneous fat.
