While the FDA dislikes DMAA, Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals decided to engage in the risky business of including DMAA in their fat-burning diet-aid supplement. Hi-Tech branded Hydroxyelite based on the same ingredients found in OxyElite Pro. Both supplements contain a blend of bauhinia purpurea l, bacopa monnieri, 1,3 dimethylamylamine HCl (DMAA), cirsium oligophyllum, and rauwolscine, totaling 119.5 mg, garcinia cambogia, and 100 mg of caffeine. All the main ingredients found in both supplements promote fat loss and increase energy and response time.
Caffeine is an attractive stimulant to many athletes as it stimulates central nervous system activity, increasing energy and decreasing drowsiness. Caffeine also functions as a diuretic, helping to regulate and improve digestive and excretory system functioning, which explains why people tend to feel more dehydrated than usual after consuming caffeine. Too much caffeine, however, may interfere with calcium absorption, and potentially lead to osteoporosis; thus, the recommended daily dosage is not to exceed 400 mg.
1,3 Dimethylamine (DMAA)
DMAA is a natural derivative of geranium plant. Its appeal in the health and fitness industry is due to its caffeine-like effects and fat-burning capacity. It is a neural stimulant, similar to ephedrine and adrenaline, which mildly increases adrenaline, providing a spike in energy, improving focus, and heightening the senses, while maintaining a longer lasting pump during training. DMAA increases resting heart rate and cAMP (a fat release hormone), supporting fat burning capacity. DMAA also acts as an appetite suppressant and has been shown to improve mood.
Bauhinia Purpurea L
Found in India and Southern China, bauhinia purpurea l is widely used for medicinal purposes as its extract contains various healing properties.
