People always want to know what is the very best way to dose prohormones.  This guide will give you the basic rules for how to best dose prohormones and also the “busy man’s” dosing schedule.  That way you can do what is the best for your body!

All hormones should be taken with a fatty food like peanut butter or something similar.  This will help the absorption of the hormones in the gut.   Also, another trick is to drink an 8oz glass of grapefruit juice with every dose because it helps to bypass the liver!


The body doses testosterone quite differently than standard treatment by medical professionals.  Medicine will give oral pills that last 24-48 hours or injections of a testosterone ester that will last up to two weeks.

Prohormones are usually dosed throughout the day to give the body a “steady state” of hormone however that doesn’t mimic the body’s natural release which has a peak in the morning and then trails off all day (see figure 1)

So, in fact it is possible that we have been dosing our hormones all wrong for building muscle mass.  We may be better off dosing all at one time or weighted for example if four pills are used:

Morning – 3 pills

Afternoon – 1 pill

Evening – Testosterone booster like Rise and Swell to boost LH production.

This schedule will mimic the basic release of the body.


The typical “man” in the above graph doesn’t work out with weights, so we must factor that into our equation for the perfect dosing schedule.  Testosterone levels spike during resistance training, so we would need to factor that in if we are going to develop the perfect plan for prohormone dosing (see figure 2).  This means that the standard release system is thrown off during

Our ideal protocol would look like this:

Double Dosed 1-Andro Protocol

  • Off Training Days
  • Morning – 3 doses
  • Afternoon – 1 dose
  • Training Days
  • Morning – 2 doses
  • Preworkout – 2 doses

This will mimic the body’s natural release.   You may want to use a testosterone boosting agent like Rise and Swell prior to bed, which will boost natural recovery and production of your entire steroidal cascade.

This protocol should give you the same release as the natural body state.


The body is a complicated beast!  There are counter measures to anything out of the ordinary which makes trying to use hormones to build muscle difficult.

My theory is to dose the hormones on the natural schedule so we don’t alarm the body and cause it to release more detoxifying agents like glucoronidation

Glucuronidation is often involved in xenobiotic metabolism of substances such as drugs, pollutants, bilirubin, androgens, estrogens, mineralocorticoids, glucocorticoids, fatty acid derivatives, retinoids, and bile acids. These linkages involve glycosidic bonds.”

Our goal should be to limit anything that will cause the body to compensate for our excessive hormone use!  In this way we may truly develop side effect free dosing with maximal effects by timing things perfectly.
