First and foremost, if you are reading this, thank you. As a person with almost 18 years of grappling experience between Wrestling/Jiu-Jitsu, I appreciate any opportunity to exchange knowledge.
A little bit more about me. My Name is Brian “King” Johnson, I have been an athlete all my life from traditional sports like basketball and football as a kid, then moving into martial arts starting out with a few years of Karate and now as an American National Champion Purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. My goal is, I want to create content to connected my thoughts, and ideas on improving as an Athlete/ Martial Artist with people of similar interests.
People who will read this article, train their bodies to perform and develop to accomplish set goals and these same people understand the process on how to get to their goal. Many of us who are consistently working out are trying to achieve different goals. Those goals require us to push our bodies and also our minds to reach any goal set. Don’t get confused; I’m not just talking about goals like winning the next sports competition or in my case winning a world Jiu-Jitsu championship. I’m talking to the all the people out there who set a legit goal, even if it’s losing 5 pounds or adding 10 pounds to your bench press. If you’re reading this, more than likely you are one of those goal setting people, who will then follow up setting a goal with setting a deadline and then researching the best practice in completing your set goals.
My intention is to spark and add value to the community from a martial arts view. I have traveled to some great places across the country and had a chance to meet some awesome people over the years. I hope this content is helpful on your journey. I plan to share some of my experience, and also I plan to share thought starters on current events. I will be adding health and fitness content from a martial arts perspective as time goes on.
As I am setting goals to push my body to the next level, I’m learning and sharing knowledge about how to improve my body with consistent training and proper nutrition. Since becoming part of Team Juggernaut, I am training to becoming a world champion and then repeat. Coming off of winning the international Brazilian Federation American Nationals (IBJJF) overall championships, I continue to set my goals higher and higher. As the goals grow, I work harder and smarter in the gym. I have additionally added lifting program to lower body fat, improve strength and improve overall performance.
Currently, I have seen a lot of improvements in strength and lean muscle gain using a mix of products including GASPARI Protein and Amino Acid with Electrolytes supplement when sparring. When I lift, I have seen a lot of success with Mesomorph. With sports like Jiu-jitsu, you need to work on recovering a little differently than other activities. Maintaining your joints is paramount for long-term success. For this, I’m currently using Formutech Nutrition Flexible – Joint Formula. Another great product which helps in this process is Hydroxyelite by Hi-tech. I’m sure I will adapt this single stack as my nutritional needs change over time. Check out the Mind and Muscle site for these and other products that can help you reach your goals.
