Ergogenic Aids: Arachadonic Acid

This is a fatty acid that increases muscle damage and therefore sends a growth signal to the muscle cells to increase anabolism. It has been reported to increase weight loss and NO and is certainly a supplement to watch for future information. It has been shown to not impact muscle growth in trained men, but again with the proper support nutrients, it could be a good ingredient.  The only issue with AA supplementation is that it can cause arterial damage, increased risk for stroke and cancer progression if used long term.  Studies aside, there are very good anecdotal reports of this ingredient causing increased fat loss and vascularity.  As long as it is respected, arachadonic acid could certainly be a staple part of the bodybuilding arsenal.
